At the Feb 8, 2022 Council Meeting, Mayor Kenneth A. LaSota, PhD recognized lifelong Borough resident John Duda for over 20 years of service to Heidelberg Borough. Over the past 20 years, Mr Duda has served the Borough in numerous ways including serving on council, working in public works and assisting with electrical improvement projects. In honor of that service, the Mayor issued a proclamation which was read by the Mayor at the meeting and presented to Mr Duda by Council President Ray Losego. Mr Duda was joined at the meeting by Linda O’Leary, Beyleigh Duda, Pat Ferris and Sherri Ferris. Please join us in thanking Mr Duda for all he has done for the Borough and it’s residents!

A PROCLAMATION OF THE MAYOR OF THE BOROUGH OF HEIDELBERG, ALLEGHENY COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA, RECOGNIZING THE CONTRIBUTIONS OF JOHN G. DUDA TO THE BOROUGH OF HEIDELBERG.
Whereas, the Duda family is one of the founding families of the Borough of Heidelberg and members of the Duda family have resided continuously in the Borough since the earliest parts of the first half of the last century, and;
Whereas, John G. Duda is a life-long resident of the Borough of Heidelberg, and by his endless energy, boundless whit, and compassionate spirit has in many, many ways contributed to the betterment and advancement of the Borough, and has left an indelible mark on the Borough, her residents, and all who know and love the Borough, and;
Whereas, for twenty years John was elected to a seat on the Heidelberg Borough Council. Serving with passion and dedication, John worked to keep the governance of the Borough always prepared to provide all Heidelbergundians with a safe, pleasant and appealing place to live, work and play, and;
Whereas, during his twenty-year tenure in public service on Heidelberg Borough Council, John served lead roles on the Council’s finance committee, recreation committee, public safety committee, and streets and roads committee, among many others, and;
Whereas, because of John’s professional training as an electrician, John served for over two decades as the Borough’s official and unofficial electrician, and designed, installed, maintained and repaired much of the electrical infrastructure in a number of the Borough parks, buildings and roadways.
Therefore, be it proclaimed, that on behalf of a grateful citizenry, and an appreciative Borough Council, I do hereby declare that John G. Duda contributed greatly to the Borough of Heidelberg during his two-decade tenure on Heidelberg Borough Council, And that as a testament to his decades of exceptional service, this Mayoral Proclamation is issued proclaiming that by every measure John G. Duda is a quintessential Heidelbergundian.
